Geodesic Dome
Geodesic Dome
Students will decompose complex problems into smaller, manageable components, fostering teamwork, critical thinking, and design skills while introducing them to pattern recognition.
Students will be able to decompose a larger problem of building a geodesic dome into smaller components, collaborate effectively in groups of three, follow provided instructions, and apply established group norms and roles.
This project took place in an 8th grade classroom. The unit was inspired by a project that was done at Smithsonian Teacher Innovative Institute at Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. This was an exhibit at the Smithsonian National History Museum.
