Switch Animal Project

Switch Animal Project

Students created an Encyclopedia page and a Fake Newsletter about an animal that they discovered. They used PowerPoint, Paint, OneNote, and Word to create these artifacts. Along with other resources.

Design a Switch Animal

All of these steps have been stretched out into a unit. The students learn about the difference between informational text vs persuasive text. They learn about news vs fake news. The students learn how to do graphic design on PowerPoint so they can remove the background of their animal to put it into many slides. They learn how to add backgrounds, animations and other PowerPoint tools.

Using the OneNote Notebook and snipping tool  have students copy and paste different switch animals they make into their OneNote Notebook.

  • Allow them to create numerous examples and have them name them.

  • When they are done, have them choose one that they love.

Research Notes:

Students are given a graphic organizer to fill out about their animal in OneNote.

Every class was dedicated to a specific topic in the OneNote Notebook.  By the end of the class they would write about their animal.
